http://typedia.com/learn/only/typeface-classifications/ does not have the category “Gaelic”. This category was added to the ATypI classification on the basis of the talk I gave at their meeting in Dublin in September 2010.

Please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typeface#Gaelic_typefaces and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaelic_type and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VOX-ATypI_classification and http://www.evertype.com/celtscript/fonthist.html

Gaelic (and subtypes Angular and Uncial) should be added to the popup menu for adding faces to Typedia.

Go raibh maith agaibh.

Hi Michael,

Thanks very much for your suggestions! We talked it over and agreed; we’ve added Gaelic (and the subs of Angular and Uncial).

Thank you!

Hi Michael,

Sorry about that, I’ve since added them to the system, though I could use some more clarification on the structure.

Currently we have Gaelic as the classification, with Uncial and Angular as subclassifications. Is that correct?

Mark Simonson came up with the original classification scheme and he thought Uncial should be the classification, with Uncial as the subclassification (and wasn’t sure that Angular had a place or not).

So, if you have some time to add a couple thoughts, we’d love to hear them. We differ to your expertise on the subject.

Thanks!
