Background

New York is a transitional serif typeface designed in for the Macintosh platform by Susan Kare. It was originally titled \“Rosemont.\” The typeface was the standard bitmap serif font for the early Macintosh operating systems.
Designed as a bitmap face, a TrueType format was eventually released.
