Background
Kaas is an experiment around the “blackletter” theme, that started in The Hague (The Netherlands) when I was studying at the Type & Media MA (KABK). Most characters are build using a grid (numbers for example are not). Kaas was published in 2005 by Village, New York. Chester Jenkins at Village helped design the hebrew and cyrillic script variants.
Kaas won silver (2nd prize) at Vuoden Huiput in 2005. Vuoden Huiput is the annual prize awarded by Grafia, the Association of Professional Graphic Designers in Finland.
