Background
Hipster Script is another of attempt to bridge the manual with the digital. In this case, emulating the strokes of brush lettering. Where computerized commercial lettering, though the contrasts in Hipster’s strokes are much more casual than Feel’s dramatic copperplate ones. In swashes, alternates, and ligatures (too many!) captures the subtle interplay of the brush widths of handpainted letters. The designer also toyed with apostrophe ligatures. Hipster is an attempt to combine the spontaneity of post-war ad lettering with current trends in illustration and design.
