Typedesign by Team’77 (André Gürtler, Christian Mengelt, Erich Gschwind), 1977, under contract to Haas Typefoundry, as new sansserif typeface for Haas photo-typsetting, followed by the use for digital-typesetting systems of Linotype. Conception of a balanced font program and design of the8 basic fonts: Regular and Italic, Light and Light Italic, Medium and Medium Italic, and Bold with Bold Italic.
Presently, the Linotype and Scangraphic foundries both claim ownership of the type family. Because of this, Haas Unica is commercially unavailable.”
