Background

Gratis is, as the name may suggest, not a free font, but instead a highly visible and recognizable blackletter typeface. The repetition of few but very typical characteristics gives it a memorable appearance, ideal for headlines, titles and signage. Gratis is stylistically compact and achieves a readable form and yet the jagged-edged look yields a powerful, energetic and dominating effect.
