Background
Cloister Open Face is part of the range of faces called Nicolas Jenson which had previously been cut by Ludlow (1924) under the name Eusebius. Cloister Open Face is based on the late fifteenth century types cut by Jenson. The face has the elegance and refinement found in other revivals of Jensons types, such as Centaur. The Cloister Open Face font is ideal for display use where a classical feeling needs to be induced. Cloister™ is a trademark of Linotype GmbH and may be registered in certain jurisdictions.
