Philip Kelly

A british designer and typographer, Philip Kelly joined Letraset in 1969 and stayed there for 25 years. He spent most of that time working in the type design studio under the direction of the internationally known type designer Colin Brignall. As well as designing a huge number of weight variations, he also worked on customised special instant rub-down transfer sheets.

After leaving Letraset in 1994, he worked with Mike Daines at Signus, now AIT. During his time there, he was involved with font design for the NatWest bank. He has also digitised artwork for many other font designers. Since leaving Signus in 1997, he has worked for himself as Peter Kelly Digital Design. His work encompasses commissions for multinational companies, including fonts for British Telecom’s phone books and London Transport.
